Biennial Ellis Duo Piano Award

The Ellis Duo-Piano competition, open to citizens of the United States, was made possible by a legacy left by Annie Lou Ellis (Mrs. Edgar B. Ellis) of Birmingham, Alabama, friend and benefactor of the  National Federation of Music Clubs. Additional gifts were provided by Fay and John Abild of Iowa, Floride Smith Dean of South Carolina and Gretchen Van Roy of Florida, longtime supporters of NFMC.

The Founder and first Chairman was Lucile Parrish Ward (Mrs. Jack C. Ward), President of the National Federation of Music Clubs, 1979-1983. The Ellis Competition Ellis Competition finals will be held at Belhaven University, Jackson, Mississippi, with the winners invited to perform in concert at the 2015 NFMC Biennial Convention to be held in Fargo, North Dakota, June 15 - 19. The National Federation will serve as the promotional agent in securing concerts for the Ellis winners following the competition.
