A Spring Breakfast is a highlight of the season.  This year Gladys Binkley, President of the Desert Music Club, and Sharon Booker, President of the Arizona Federation entertained the members with their "Pick-a-Little" routine as well as "Hokey Pokey," "Side by Side" and "Friendship."

The White Mountain Music Club in Show Low, Arizona, supports a Scholarship Benefit Concert giving out five awards for music camp participation or for further help in paying for lessons.  Joan Basely is the current president.  They have nine meetings a year featuring local artists.  One program had an organ/harpsichord demonstration.  Members are performing in Choral Groups, White Mountain Chorale and Silver Creek Symphony, among others.

The Valley Musical Arts Club in Tempe, Arizona, is federated to support the Junior Festival.  Paula Heil is serving as president.  They have grown steadily over the years to a total of 241 participants.  Their festival is held at the campus of Arizona State University, and has increased by 70% each year.

The Tucson Musical Arts Club (TMAC) sponsors the Marguerite Ough Vocal competition for advanced degree students at the University of Arizona.  $40,000 is in the fund and only the interest is used for awards.  Jan Lockett currently serves as president. For two years TMAC has promoted National Music Week observance with daily noon concerts at Border's Book Store in Tucson.  They feature Junior Strings, pianists, jazz pianists, composers, opera groups and instrumentalists.  Meetings are held the first Sunday of every month, September through May at Border's.

The Green Valley Concert Association (GVCA) presents seven concerts a year starting with a Faculty Showcase from the University of Arizona School of Music and Dance and ending with a piano competition featuring advanced piano students from the University.  Cal Turner is the current GVCA president. The have featured many NFMC Young Artists over their 28 year history: Richard Glazier, Thomas Otten, Suill Bailey, Andrew Cooperstock, Clinton and Narboni, Gary Steigerwalt and Dana Muller, Mary Wilson and Daniel Weeks.

Last year GVCA sponsored a "Rising Stars" concert featuring talented young musicians.  It was so successful that this kind of concert is certain to become a tradition.  Kristie Withers, a young 16 year old harpist featured in the first "Rising Stars" concert was the National winner of the Student Auditions in 2001.  She also received the 2001 Most Valuable Player Award for the Tucson Philharmonia Youth Orchestra.  Additionally, GVCA further supports musical activities in the community through various scholarships and grants.
